OVERVIEW

High-Performance E330-16 Stainless Steel Electrode

The Lincoln Electric Excalibur® E330-16 is a premium quality stick electrode designed specifically for the welding of cast and wrought stainless steels of the AISI 330 type. Engineered with a fully austenitic core wire containing approximately 35% Nickel and 15% Chromium, this electrode provides outstanding resistance to scaling, oxidation, and carburization at elevated temperatures up to 1800°F (980°C). It is the preferred choice for industries requiring robust performance in extreme thermal environments, such as heat treatment facilities and petrochemical plants.

Part of the renowned Excalibur® family, this electrode features a proprietary coating formulation that delivers exceptional arc characteristics. Operators will observe a smooth, stable arc with minimal spatter, ensuring high-quality deposits even in challenging positions. The slag system is designed to be self-peeling or easily removable, which is critical for maintaining productivity during multi-pass welding operations on thick sections. The weld metal exhibits excellent ductility and resistance to thermal shock, making it suitable for components subject to rapid heating and cooling cycles.

This electrode is versatile in its application, capable of operating on both AC and DCEP currents. It is frequently utilized for the fabrication and repair of furnace parts, heat exchange equipment, and high-temperature fans. The 3.2mm (1/8") diameter is optimal for medium-to-heavy gauge materials, providing good deposition rates while maintaining control. Packaged in a durable 10lb tube, the electrodes are protected from moisture and damage, ensuring they are ready for immediate use in critical maintenance and repair operations.

Technical Specifications

The E330-16 classification indicates a titania-type coating that supports all-position welding (though flat and horizontal are preferred for larger diameters). The high alloy content ensures that the weld metal retains its mechanical properties and corrosion resistance even after prolonged exposure to high temperatures. It is also an excellent choice for welding dissimilar metals where high heat resistance is required on the stainless side of the joint.
