The SB030-10 is a high-grade Silicon Bronze (ERCuSi-A) MIG welding wire designed for the Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) process. This 10-pound spool of 0.030-inch diameter wire is engineered with a copper-based alloy containing approximately 3% silicon and small amounts of manganese. This specific chemical composition acts as a powerful deoxidizer during the welding process, ensuring sound, porosity-free welds even on base metals that may have slight surface contaminants. It is the preferred choice for industrial fabricators needing to join copper, brass, and bronze alloys, as well as for joining these copper alloys to steel.

One of the standout characteristics of this silicon bronze wire is its exceptional performance on galvanized steel. Unlike standard steel wires, ERCuSi-A melts at a lower temperature, allowing for a "MIG brazing" process that minimizes the disturbance of the zinc coating on galvanized sheets. This results in a joint that retains its corrosion resistance significantly better than standard welds. For optimal results, this wire should be used with 100% Argon shielding gas, although Argon/Helium mixtures can be utilized for thicker sections requiring higher heat input.
