Thanks to its IP 23 rating, the Flextec 500X is built to excel in outdoor environments such as construction sites and shipyards. In fact, it is Desert Duty® rated, meaning it can operate in extreme temperatures up to 55°C. The durable trayed and potted PC boards provide added environmental protection for the machine's electronics.
This multi-process power source is compatible with all 42VAC wire feeders, allowing for MIG and FluxCored welding. The Arclink® enabled power source provides synergic pulse modes, while the CrossLinc feature enables remote control of CV and CC processes without the need for extra cables. Additionally, the Flextec 500X offers optimized Stick welding for cellulosic and low hydrogen electrodes, as well as touch-start TIG for easy, contamination-free starts.
With CrossLinc technology compatibility, the Flextec 500X eliminates the need for control cables, offering full functionality and enabling remote procedure setting at the feeder. This not only improves weld quality but also increases arc time by minimizing trips to the power source for adjustments. I came in for a simple argon bottle swap—not a lesson in surprise fees. If you intend to charge an “environmental fee,” disclose it upfront in your quote. Adding it at checkout is unacceptable. Be transparent or adjust your pricing—don’t hide it.
