Technically, the module functions as an intermediary control unit. It draws 115V AC auxiliary power (typically from a wall outlet or the machine's auxiliary receptacle) to drive the wire feed motor located within the Magnum SG gun. It features an internal gas solenoid valve, which manages the flow of shielding gas (typically 100% Argon for aluminum) synchronously with the trigger pull. The module interprets the trigger signal from the gun to engage both the power source contactor and the gas flow, ensuring a seamless welding arc start.
