The Tweco® Adjustable Copper Nozzle, available in a 3/4" size, is specially designed for standard gas diffusers and compatible with Tweco® No. 4 MIG guns with a maximum capacity of 450 A. It is an excellent choice for medium to heavy duty welding applications up to 450 A. The outer surface of the nozzle is marked with a part number for easy identification.
This adjustable nozzle is made from 122 DHP copper alloy and is sold in packs of two. It easily slides over the standard nozzle insulator, part number 34a (stock number 1340-1100). The nozzle is designed with a recess to protruding contact tip relationship, offering versatility for different welding scenarios.
When a longer electrical stick-out is needed or when the nozzle might touch the workpiece during tack, spot, and stitch welding, the recessed tips are recommended. In contrast, the flush tips are suitable for situations where a shorter electrical stick-out is used, resulting in shorter/tighter arc lengths and bringing the tip closer to the workpiece. Protruding tips are ideal when welding open root pipes or tight weld joints, although they come with the risk of potential damage to front end parts due to arcing with the workpiece. This could lead to downtime while replacement becomes necessary.
