The Tweco® Self Insulated Slip-On Copper Nozzle is designed for use with standard gas diffusers. With a 1/2" bore size, this nozzle is ideal for medium and heavy duty welding applications up to 450 A. Made from copper alloy, the 3.25" nozzle with a 0.875" OD features a part number rolled stamped on the external surface for easy identification.
The nozzle consists of a 3-piece design, eliminating the need for an additional insulator. The nozzle housing is cut and formed from 122 DHP copper alloy tubing, while the nozzle insert is machined from solid brass. The nozzle insulator is constructed from silicone material, providing the necessary electrical insulation from the gas diffuser.
To ensure easy installation, the nozzle insert is crimped in place to allow the nozzle to slide over a metal spring that forms part of the gas diffuser. This nozzle offers the required electrical insulation between the gas diffuser and the work piece.
Each pack includes 2 nozzles, and the part number is rolled stamped on the outside surface for easy identification. The 3-piece design eliminates the need for an additional insulator. The nozzle comes in three tip variations: recessed, flush, and protruding tips. Recessed tips are recommended for higher heat applications or when longer electrical stick-out is required. Flush tips are suitable for shorter electrical stick-out, resulting in shorter/tighter arc lengths. Protruding tips are ideal for welding open root pipes or tight weld joints. However, there is a risk of arcing the tip to the work piece, which could cause damage and downtime for replacement of front end parts.
