The Tweco® 16 Series Heavy Duty Tapered Contact Tip is designed to accommodate 0.045" wire and is specifically tailored for use with 350 - 600 A Tweco® Spray Master® and Tweco® No.6 MIG guns, as well as certain MIG gun series. This contact tip boasts excellent electrical properties, making it perfect for heavy duty welding applications up to 600 A. It is easily identifiable with its part number and wire diameter markings.
Measuring at 1 1/2" in length, this contact tip features an M8 X 1.25-6g thread size, a 0.054" nominal ID, and a 0.375" OD. Constructed from extruded or gun-drilled 122 DHP copper alloy, the contact tip is machined from a copper alloy tubing to maintain a consistent and smooth inside diameter surface with a tolerance of +/-0.003".
With a threaded style, the contact tip ensures proper contact with a gas diffuser when attached to the MIG gun. It offers a choice of slip-on or thread-on nozzle styles with various bore sizes. When twisted, the contact tip securely locks in place, providing better electrical conductivity and increased surface contact.
Furthermore, this contact tip's thick-walled design acts as a heat sink, effectively conducting heat away from the arc source. Once the tip wear point is reached, simply twist it a quarter turn clockwise to reveal a fresh wear point, effectively doubling the life of the tip.
