The Lincoln Electric K2528-1 Innershield® Welding Kit is a comprehensive accessory package designed to equip Power MIG Compact welders for operation with .045-inch (1.1 mm) self-shielded flux-cored wire. This kit streamlines the procurement process by bundling all necessary consumables and machine parts into a single stock keeping unit, ensuring compatibility and reducing setup time for industrial and fabrication environments.

Optimized for Performance

At the core of this kit is a 10 lb (4.5 kg) spool of Innershield® NR-212 wire, a versatile self-shielded electrode known for its smooth arc characteristics and ability to handle higher currents. To support this wire, the kit includes a knurled drive roll. Unlike smooth rolls used for solid MIG wire, the knurled surface provides the necessary grip to feed the softer, tubular flux-cored wire without crushing it, preventing feed issues and downtime. The included inner wire guide is precision-machined to align the wire perfectly from the drive rolls into the gun liner.

Gun Consumables Included

The K2528-1 kit addresses the specific needs of the welding gun as well. It supplies a Magnum® 100L gun liner sized for .035"-.045" wire, ensuring low-friction delivery through the cable. A specific .045" contact tip is provided to match the wire diameter for optimal electrical conductivity. Furthermore, the kit replaces the standard gas nozzle with a specialized gasless nozzle. This component protects the contact tip and threads from spatter while allowing for better joint visibility and access, as no shielding gas coverage is required.

Application Versatility

By installing this kit, operators can transition their equipment from gas-shielded MIG welding to flux-cored welding, making the machine suitable for outdoor work where wind would disperse shielding gas.
