OVERVIEW

High-Performance Black Flux for Demanding Brazing Applications

The Unibraze HT-1 is a specialized high-temperature black flux paste designed for silver brazing applications requiring extended heat resistance and superior oxide removal. Formulated to operate effectively within a temperature range of 1450°F to 2000°F (788°C - 1093°C), this flux is the industry standard for joining refractory metals, stainless steel, and carbide assemblies. Unlike standard white flux, the HT-1 'Black' formula contains elemental boron, which significantly increases its useful life under prolonged heating, making it an essential consumable for induction brazing and heavy-part fabrication.

This flux excels in dissolving the refractory oxides commonly found on stainless steel, nickel alloys, and tungsten carbides. Its robust chemical composition ensures that the base metal remains protected from oxidation even during slow heating cycles or when the assembly must be held at temperature for extended periods. The paste consistency allows for precise application to the joint area, ensuring excellent wetting and flow of silver brazing filler metals. Post-braze cleaning is straightforward, as the flux residues are water-soluble and can be removed with hot water and mechanical agitation.
