This 2 lb spool of 0.030-inch (0.8mm) solid wire is engineered with a higher silicon content than standard 316L alloys. The increased silicon acts as a deoxidizer and improves the fluidity of the weld pool, resulting in exceptional wetting action, flatter weld beads, and a smoother tie-in at the toes of the weld. This characteristic significantly reduces the need for post-weld grinding and finishing, making it a cost-effective choice for high-production environments.

Metallurgically, this wire maintains a low carbon content (maximum 0.03%) to mitigate carbide precipitation and prevent intergranular corrosion, ensuring the longevity of the weldment even in harsh environments. The addition of Molybdenum provides enhanced resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, particularly in chloride-containing environments like marine applications.
