The Central Wire CWIFC316L045T1 is a premium gas-shielded flux-cored arc welding (FCAW) wire designed for the joining of austenitic stainless steels. Specifically formulated to meet AWS A5.22 classifications E316LT1-1 and E316LT1-4, this consumable offers versatility in shielding gas selection, operating effectively with either 100% CO2 or a 75% Argon / 25% CO2 mixture. The 0.045-inch (1.2mm) diameter provides an optimal balance between deposition rate and puddle control, making it suitable for medium-to-heavy gauge fabrication.

This wire features a 'Low Carbon' (L-grade) chemistry, typically containing maximum 0.04% carbon, which is critical for preventing sensitization and intergranular corrosion in the heat-affected zone (HAZ). It deposits weld metal with a nominal composition of 18.5% Cr, 12.5% Ni, and 2.5% Mo. The molybdenum addition significantly enhances creep resistance at elevated temperatures and improves pitting resistance in chloride-containing environments.
