Engineered by Michael Furick, this cup features a #14 orifice (approximately 7/8 inch or 22mm inner diameter), providing a wide umbrella of shielding gas. This extensive coverage is essential when welding reactive metals such as Titanium, Inconel, and Stainless Steel, where atmospheric contamination can compromise the weld's integrity and aesthetic appearance.

Unlike glass cups which are fragile and prone to cracking during manipulation techniques, the Moose Knuckle is crafted from high-density white ceramic. This material choice makes it robust enough to withstand the friction and heat associated with "walking the cup," a popular technique for pipe and manifold welding. The cup utilizes Furick's proprietary double diffuser screen system, which smooths out the gas flow, eliminating turbulence and ensuring a stable, laminar stream of argon protects the molten puddle.

Installation is straightforward for users with standard equipment. The Moose Knuckle mounts directly onto WP-9 and WP-20 torches using a 45V44 gas lens.
