The Victor SR4G-540 (0781-1425) is a premium heavy-duty high-pressure piston regulator designed specifically for demanding industrial applications such as pressure vessel and dead-end testing. Unlike standard diaphragm regulators, the SR4G series utilizes a robust piston actuation mechanism constructed from brass, which provides superior durability and reliability when handling high delivery pressures ranging from 100 to 1500 PSIG. This design ensures that the regulator can withstand the rigors of frequent high-pressure cycling without the fatigue often associated with elastomeric diaphragms.

Engineered for precision and longevity, the regulator features a machined brass body and housing cap. The internal components are equally robust, featuring a cartridge-type seat assembly with a PCTFE (Polychlorotrifluoroethylene) seat. PCTFE is chosen for its high compressive strength and low deformation under load, making it ideal for high-pressure gas sealing. To ensure smooth operation during pressure adjustments, Victor has integrated a Delrin cap bushing, which reduces friction and allows for fine-tuning of the delivery pressure. The unit is also equipped with a sintered bronze inlet filter, a critical component that prevents debris and particulates from entering the regulator and damaging the seat or piston, thereby extending the service life of the equipment.

Safety and connectivity are paramount in the design of the SR4G-540. It includes an external adjustable relief valve to protect downstream equipment from over-pressurization. The outlet is fitted with a 1/4-inch Swagelok connection including a 1/4-inch stainless steel tube fitting, facilitating secure, leak-free connections to hard tubing often used in testing setups.
