The Smith Equipment 40-15-300 is a premium heavy-duty single-stage acetylene regulator designed for the most rigorous industrial environments. Part of the renowned Series 40 line, this regulator is engineered to overcome common failure points found in standard gas equipment. At its core lies the exclusive Sure Seat™ filtered seat technology. This system employs a super-fine 15-micron nickel-plated bronze filter that fully encapsulates the high-pressure seat, effectively blocking debris and contamination—the leading cause of regulator failure. This advanced filtration significantly extends the service life of the unit, ensuring reliable performance shift after shift.

Unlike many competitors that use rubber diaphragms, the Series 40 features a durable stainless steel diaphragm. This material choice not only provides exceptional sensitivity for precise pressure control but also eliminates the risk of diaphragm embrittlement over time. The regulator boasts an extremely low decay/rise rate of just 0.4 PSIG outlet rise per 100 PSIG of tank pressure decay, maintaining consistent flow even as the cylinder empties. With a maximum inlet pressure rating of 400 PSIG and a delivery range of 0-15 PSIG, it is perfectly tuned for acetylene applications requiring stable low-pressure delivery.

Construction quality is paramount in the 40-15-300. The body is machined from solid brass, paired with a nickel-plated bonnet to resist corrosion in harsh shop atmospheres. The internal Delrin™ bonnet insert allows for smooth, low-torque adjustment of the die-cast "T" bar screw, even at high pressure levels. Safety is addressed with an external relief valve that automatically resets after releasing excessive pressure, protecting the internal components from damage due to inadvertent surges. Large 2.5-inch brass gauges with shatter-resistant polycarbonate lenses provide clear, easy-to-read metrics for both cylinder and delivery pressure.
