The Miller Smith 254-00-02 Silverline High Purity Analytical Liquid Cylinder Regulator is a precision instrument engineered for the rigorous demands of laboratory and high-purity gas distribution systems. Part of the esteemed 250 Silverline Series, this single-stage regulator is specifically configured for use with Carbon Dioxide (CO2) via a CGA 320 inlet connection. A defining characteristic of this model is its back-mount inlet design, which facilitates seamless connection to liquid cylinders (dewars) where standard side-entry regulators may prove ergonomically challenging or physically incompatible.

Constructed from rugged brass bar stock, the entire assembly—including the body, bonnet, and gauge cases—is electroless nickel-plated. This plating serves a dual purpose: it maintains the aesthetic cleanliness required in analytical environments and provides a robust shield against corrosion, significantly extending the service life of the unit. Internally, the regulator features a large 1-7/8 inch stainless steel diaphragm. Unlike elastomeric diaphragms, stainless steel offers superior resilience against the low temperatures often associated with the gas phase of cryogenic liquid cylinders, ensuring stable delivery pressure without the drift caused by thermal contraction.

Operational integrity is further guaranteed by Smith’s exclusive Sure-Seat™ technology. This filtered seat design incorporates a protective barrier that prevents particulate contamination from reaching the seating area, a common failure mode in gas regulation. By mitigating seat degradation, the 254-00-02 reduces maintenance downtime and repair costs. The unit provides a delivery pressure range of 0-200 PSIG, monitored via large, easy-to-read 2-1/2 inch single scale gauges. It is rated for a maximum inlet pressure of 3500 PSIG and includes a built-in capturable preset safety relief valve, ensuring compliance with safety standards in high-pressure gas handling.
