The Miller Smith SC935 Gas Axe™ is an extra heavy-duty hand cutting torch designed specifically for severe applications like scrap cutting, salvage, and demolition. With a 36-inch length and a 75-degree head angle, this torch provides the reach and leverage necessary for processing heavy steel in demanding industrial environments. It is engineered to withstand rough handling, featuring a super-tough manganese bronze head that resists heat warping and physical damage far better than standard brass heads.

Universal Fuel Compatibility

One of the standout features of the SC935 is its versatility. While it excels with propane and natural gas—cutting up to 20 inches (508 mm)—it is also fully compatible with acetylene and propylene, capable of cutting up to 12 inches (305 mm) with the appropriate tips. This "Gas Axe" utilizes Smith's SC Series slip-in cutting tips, which feature resilient Graf-Tite seat material to protect against nicking and ensure a positive seal without the need for wrenches.

Safety and Durability

Safety is paramount in the design of the SC935. The torch employs a three-tube construction method that keeps oxygen and fuel gases separate until they mix within the tip itself. This design eliminates the risk of flashback in the mixing tube and prevents tube burnout. The stainless steel ball-style valves provide smooth adjustment and positive seating for leak-free operation. Additionally, the ease-on cutting oxygen valve allows for the controlled application of oxygen, reducing key-holing and slag blow-back when piercing thick plate.
