Unlike general-purpose tips (such as the Type 101), the Type 118 configuration is optimized for deseaming, scarfing, gouging, and rivet washing. This makes it an essential consumable for structural steel fabrication, heavy equipment repair, and maintenance operations where weld preparation or removal is required.
