The Miller 206187 is a heavy-duty contact tip from the FasTip™ series, engineered to provide superior electrical conductivity and arc stability in demanding industrial environments. This specific tip features a unique bore diameter designed to accommodate two distinct wire sizes based on material properties: it is sized for .035-inch (0.9 mm) Aluminum MIG wire and .040-inch (1.0 mm) Hard/Steel MIG wire. This dual compatibility makes it an essential consumable for fabrication shops handling diverse materials.

When welding aluminum, the wire expands significantly more than steel as it heats up. The 206187 tip provides the necessary clearance for .035" aluminum wire to feed smoothly without seizing, preventing burn-backs and bird-nesting common in push-pull systems. Conversely, the tolerance is tight enough to maintain excellent electrical contact for .040" steel wires. This tip is a direct replacement for legacy part number 199605.
