The Parker P402-5 Shock Washer is a critical replacement component designed for use with high-amperage, water-cooled MIG welding torches. Specifically engineered to fit the widely used Binzel® style MB401 and MB501 series guns, as well as Parker’s own SGB 401 and SGB 501 lines, this washer plays a vital role in the front-end assembly of the torch. It is manufactured from high-grade, heat-resistant materials capable of withstanding the intense thermal cycles associated with heavy industrial welding.

In the assembly of a water-cooled torch, the shock washer typically sits at the base of the swan neck or gas diffuser area. Its primary function is to provide a stable seating surface for the front-end consumables while offering mechanical protection and thermal insulation. Over time, the extreme heat and mechanical stress of welding can cause these washers to crack, degrade, or become brittle. A compromised shock washer can lead to loose nozzles, poor gas coverage, or even electrical tracking issues. Replacing this component regularly is essential for maintaining the structural integrity and performance of the torch head.

Parker Torchology is renowned for producing aftermarket welding parts that meet or exceed OEM specifications. The P402 is precision-molded to ensure a perfect fit, preventing gas leaks and ensuring that the nozzle remains concentric with the contact tip. This pack contains five washers, providing excellent value for fabrication shops and maintenance departments that require reliable inventory for their welding equipment.
