The Western Enterprises WES858 Cylinder Adaptor is a critical component for professionals working with specialized industrial gases, specifically Zero Air. Designed to bridge the gap between incompatible cylinder valves and regulator connections, this adaptor converts a CGA-590 cylinder outlet to accept a CGA-346 regulator inlet. In the complex world of compressed gas fittings, ensuring you have the correct mating parts is essential for both safety and operational efficiency. This adaptor provides a seamless solution when you encounter a mismatch between your gas supply and your control equipment.

Manufactured from high-quality brass, the WES858 is built to withstand the rigors of industrial environments. Brass is the material of choice for these applications due to its excellent durability, resistance to corrosion, and non-sparking properties. The precision machining of the threads ensures a tight, leak-free seal, which is paramount when handling compressed gases at pressures up to 3000 PSIG. While adaptors are incredibly useful, it is important to note that they are intended for temporary use to facilitate connections where a direct match is not immediately available. They should not be used as a permanent installation solution, and users should always verify that the gas service is compatible with the materials and pressure ratings of the adaptor.

This specific model is tailored for “Zero Air” applications. Zero Air is a critical gas used in analytical chemistry, environmental monitoring, and instrument calibration. It requires specific handling to maintain its purity. The CGA-590 connection is standard for certain industrial air cylinders, while CGA-346 is another common standard for air service. By utilizing the WES858, laboratories and industrial facilities can utilize their existing inventory of regulators and hoses without needing to replace expensive hardware. The adaptor acts as a safe, reliable interface, ensuring that your workflow remains uninterrupted.
