The Thermal Dynamics 9-8277 is a Heavy Duty Start Cartridge engineered for the SL100 1Torch plasma system. This component is central to the torch’s “blowback” start mechanism, a non-high frequency (Non-HF) method of initiating the pilot arc. In this system, the start cartridge facilitates the mechanical movement of the electrode away from the nozzle tip when gas pressure is applied, creating the initial spark required to ionize the plasma gas.<\/p>\n
Unlike standard start cartridges, this heavy-duty variant is constructed to withstand higher thermal cycles and mechanical stress, making it the preferred choice for automated cutting tables or intensive manual gouging and cutting operations. It is strictly designed for Non-HF systems, ensuring compatibility with Cutmaster True Series power sources and other machines utilizing the 1Torch platform. Proper functioning of the start cartridge is critical for maintaining arc stability and preventing misfires.<\/p>\n
