The Tempilstik 125°F (52°C) is the original temperature-indicating stick, an essential tool for industrial professionals who require absolute certainty in thermal processing. Manufactured by Tempil, a leader in surface temperature measurement, this product utilizes advanced phase-change technology to provide a distinct, irreversible melt point at exactly 125°F. For welding engineers, quality control inspectors, and metal fabricators, the TS125 serves as a primary method for verifying preheat temperatures, ensuring that base materials are properly conditioned before welding begins.

In critical applications such as structural steel fabrication, shipbuilding, and pressure vessel manufacturing, adhering to specific thermal parameters is not optional—it is a code requirement. The Tempilstik 125°F is engineered to meet the stringent demands of AWS D1.1, ASME Code Sec. I, III, and VIII, and ANSI/ASME Code B31.1. Its accuracy is rated at +/- 1% of the stated temperature, a level of precision that rivals electronic thermocouples but without the drift, battery failure, or calibration downtime associated with digital devices. Each stick is traceable to NIST standards, providing the documentation trail necessary for rigorous QA/QC audits.

The stick is housed in a durable, slip-resistant aluminum holder designed for industrial environments. The formulation is free of lead, sulfur, and halogens, making it safe for use on stainless steel, nickel alloys, and other sensitive metals where contamination must be avoided. Whether used for preheating, interpass temperature monitoring, or post-weld heat treatment, the Tempilstik provides an immediate, visual confirmation of temperature that is unaffected by static electricity or ambient interference.

Technical Specifications
