The Miller H53SF Tailpiece is a critical component in the assembly and maintenance of industrial gas delivery systems. Manufactured to the stringent quality standards of Miller Electric and its Smith Equipment product line, this brass tailpiece—often referred to as a hose nipple—is designed specifically for coupling 1/4-inch Inner Diameter (I.D.) hoses to regulators, torches, and flowmeters. The unit functions as the male insert that slides into the hose, providing a rigid internal structure against which a ferrule or hose clamp can exert pressure, thereby creating a mechanical seal that prevents gas leakage under pressure.

Constructed from high-grade brass, the H53SF offers excellent machinability and resistance to corrosion, essential properties for components exposed to various industrial gases and shop environments. The sealing face of the tailpiece is precision-machined to mate perfectly with the corresponding concave or convex seating of standard B-size (9/16″-18) or similar gas fittings, depending on the specific nut used in conjunction with it. This ensures that when the coupling nut is tightened, the tailpiece seats firmly, eliminating potential leak paths that could compromise process quality or safety.
