The Miller CGA540-1 Nut is a fundamental component for any industrial gas setup utilizing oxygen. Designed to meet the rigorous Compressed Gas Association (CGA) standards, this brass nut is specifically engineered for CGA 540 connections, which is the standard fitting for industrial oxygen cylinders in North America. Whether you are assembling a new gas manifold system, repairing a regulator, or fabricating custom pigtails, the integrity of your connection points is paramount for safety and efficiency. This nut provides the mechanical force necessary to seat the nipple against the cylinder valve, creating a gas-tight seal capable of withstanding high cylinder pressures.

Constructed from high-quality brass, the Miller CGA540-1 offers excellent durability and resistance to environmental corrosion. Brass is the material of choice for oxygen fittings not only for its strength but also for its non-sparking properties. In oxygen-enriched environments, minimizing ignition sources is a critical safety protocol. The precision machining of the threads ensures a smooth engagement with cylinder valves, reducing the risk of cross-threading or galling, which can compromise the equipment and lead to dangerous leaks. This attention to manufacturing detail reflects Miller’s commitment to quality in gas equipment accessories.

This nut is typically used in conjunction with a corresponding CGA 540 nipple (sold separately) to form the complete inlet connection for a pressure regulator. Over time, the threads on frequently used regulators can become worn or damaged due to repeated tightening and loosening during cylinder changes. Replacing the nut is a cost-effective maintenance step that restores the safety and reliability of your gas equipment without the need to replace the entire regulator body. It is an essential spare part for facility managers and gas technicians to keep on hand.
