The Walter Open Gear Spray (53E102) is a premium industrial lubricant designed specifically to tackle the unique challenges of exposed gear mechanisms and heavy-duty drive systems. In the world of industrial maintenance, open gears present a difficult lubrication scenario; they are often subjected to high pressures, environmental contaminants, and the centrifugal forces of rotation which tend to throw off standard greases. Walter has formulated this product to be exceptionally tenacious, ensuring that the lubricant stays exactly where it is needed most—on the gear teeth and load-bearing surfaces.

This 400ml aerosol provides a convenient and effective method for applying a high-viscosity lubricant that penetrates initially to coat all surfaces before setting into a tacky, durable film. This “stringy” consistency is the key to its performance, allowing it to stretch and adhere under rotation rather than dripping or flinging off. For facility managers and equipment operators, this means less frequent re-application, reduced consumption of lubricant, and a significantly cleaner surrounding area, as the product does not splatter onto floors or nearby equipment.

Beyond its adhesive properties, the Walter Open Gear Spray is fortified with Extreme Pressure (EP) additives. These additives create a robust barrier between metal surfaces, preventing metal-to-metal contact even under shock loads or heavy continuous operation. This significantly reduces wear and tear on expensive machinery components, extending the service life of gears, sprockets, and chains. Additionally, the formula offers excellent water resistance, making it an ideal choice for outdoor equipment, construction machinery, and marine applications where moisture and weather exposure are constant factors.
