The Walter 48R188 Tightening Sleeve is a specialized mechanical component engineered for the Line-Mate III linear finishing tool system. This accessory serves a critical function in the assembly of abrasive setups, specifically when utilizing pneumatic drums such as the 07-F 037 or 07-F 038. The sleeve acts as the interface between the tool’s drive spindle and the abrasive drum, ensuring a rigid and concentric connection that is vital for high-quality surface finishing.

Manufactured to precise tolerances, the 48R188 sleeve prevents the pneumatic drum from slipping or wobbling during operation. In linear finishing applications, particularly on stainless steel where grain consistency is paramount, any eccentricity in the drum’s rotation can lead to shadow lines or uneven textures. By securely locking the drum in place, this tightening sleeve maintains the integrity of the finish and prolongs the life of both the abrasive belt and the tool’s drivetrain.
