The Walter Carbon Brush Set (SKU: 48M662) is a critical maintenance component designed specifically for select high-performance Walter power tools. In the world of industrial grinding and finishing, the electric motor is the heart of your equipment, and the carbon brushes are the vital link that transfers current to the spinning armature. Over time, these brushes naturally wear down due to friction and electrical arcing. Ignoring worn brushes can lead to significant performance drops, intermittent operation, or even permanent damage to the motor’s commutator.

This set includes two high-quality carbon brushes engineered to the exact specifications of Walter Surface Technologies. Unlike generic aftermarket alternatives, these OEM brushes utilize a specific carbon density and composition that matches the requirements of Walter’s heavy-duty motors. This ensures consistent electrical conductivity, optimal heat dissipation, and the correct spring tension required to maintain contact without causing excessive wear on the armature. Whether you are operating a Walter Big 6, Super 5, or other compatible angle grinders, installing the correct brush set is essential for maintaining the tool’s torque and speed under load.

Maintenance professionals understand that preventative care is key to minimizing downtime. Symptoms of worn brushes include excessive sparking through the cooling vents, a burning smell, or the tool hesitating during startup. By replacing your brushes with the 48M662 set before they are completely exhausted, you protect the internal components of your expensive power tools and ensure they are ready for the toughest industrial applications. Each kit comes ready for installation, often requiring only a simple screwdriver to access the brush caps on the tool body.
