The Walter 13D302 3″ Crimped Wire Cup Brush represents a significant advancement in surface cleaning and preparation technology. Designed for industrial environments where efficiency and tool longevity are paramount, this brush features Walter’s signature safety supporting ring. This innovative mechanism tightly encircles the wire filaments, preventing them from flaring outwards prematurely during high-speed operation. By controlling the flare, the brush maintains a more aggressive cutting angle for longer periods and prevents wire fatigue that leads to breakage.

Fabricators and maintenance professionals appreciate the dual-stage life of this tool. Once the exposed wire wears down to the level of the supporting ring, the ring can be easily detached, revealing a fresh length of wire underneath. This effectively extends the usable life of the brush, reducing the frequency of replacements and lowering overall consumable costs. The crimped wire configuration is specifically engineered for flexibility, making it the ideal choice for light to medium duty cleaning applications on steel surfaces, such as removing rust, paint, scale, and corrosion without gouging the base material.

Compatibility is key with the 13D302, which features an M14 x 2.0 threaded nut. This specific thread size is designed for angle grinders that utilize the metric M14 spindle standard, ensuring a secure and safe fit. The brush is constructed using premium oil-hardened and tempered carbon steel wire, ensuring that each filament retains its stiffness and cutting ability even under thermal stress. Furthermore, every Walter cup brush is precision-balanced to run smoothly, minimizing vibration. This reduction in vibration not only protects the power tool’s bearings but also significantly reduces operator fatigue during extended use.
