The Walter Surface Technologies 12E647 is a high-performance 10″ x 1″ bench grinding wheel designed to deliver consistent results in industrial and maintenance environments. Engineered with a premium abrasive grain structure, this 60-grit wheel strikes the perfect balance between material removal rates and surface finish. It is an essential consumable for workshops requiring reliable tools for deburring, shaping metal, and sharpening tools.

One of the standout features of this Walter grinding wheel is its versatility regarding machine compatibility. Out of the box, the wheel features a 1-inch arbor hole, standard for many heavy-duty 10-inch pedestal grinders. However, Walter includes a set of high-quality nested reducer bushings. These bushings allow the wheel to be safely and securely mounted on grinders with 3/4″, 5/8″, or 1/2″ shafts. This universal design eliminates the frustration of sourcing separate adapters and ensures that a single SKU can service multiple machines across your facility.

Safety and comfort are paramount in bench grinding operations. Walter wheels are manufactured to strict tolerances to ensure excellent concentricity and balance. A balanced wheel significantly reduces vibration during operation, which not only improves the surface finish of the workpiece but also reduces fatigue for the operator and wear on the grinder’s bearings. The 60-grit composition is ideal for “general purpose” tasks—aggressive enough to remove burrs from cut steel quickly, yet fine enough to touch up drill bits, chisels, and lathe tools without removing excessive material.
