The Walter 12E325 Bench Grinding Wheel is a premium abrasive solution designed specifically for the demanding task of shaping and sharpening very hard materials. Engineered with high-quality Green Silicon Carbide grains, this wheel excels where standard aluminum oxide wheels fail. It is particularly effective for working with tungsten carbide tooling, non-ferrous metals, and other high-hardness alloys used in industrial machining and fabrication. The 46-grit composition provides a medium-coarse texture, allowing for rapid stock removal while still maintaining enough control to profile tools accurately without excessive heat buildup.

One of the standout features of this Walter abrasive wheel is its versatility in mounting. Every unit ships with a set of nested reducer bushings, allowing the 1-inch arbor to be easily adapted to 3/4-inch, 5/8-inch, or 1/2-inch shafts. This universal fitment means maintenance departments and machine shops can stock a single SKU to service multiple different bench and pedestal grinders. The vitrified bond matrix holds the abrasive grains securely, ensuring the wheel retains its geometry over time, which is critical for precision tool sharpening operations.

Safety and performance are paramount in the design of the 12E325. The wheel is precision-balanced at the factory to ensure smooth operation, reducing vibration that can lead to chatter marks on the workpiece or premature wear on the grinder bearings. Whether you are re-tipping lathe tools, sharpening masonry drill bits, or deburring hard castings, this wheel delivers consistent, cool-cutting performance. It is an essential consumable for any workshop dealing with carbide or specialty hard metals.
