The Walter Toughcut 11R052V is a specialized abrasive product designed for applications requiring both stock removal and surface blending. Unlike traditional rigid grinding wheels, the Toughcut features a unique bond formulation (A-30-X-FLEX) that imparts a degree of flexibility to the disc. This 5-inch wheel, with a 3\/32-inch thickness and 7\/8-inch arbor, is engineered to conform to the workpiece, making it the optimal choice for grinding on curved surfaces, pipes, and tanks where rigid wheels might cause flat spots or gouging.<\/p>\n
Constructed with premium aluminum oxide grain, the Toughcut delivers a consistent removal rate on mild steel and other ferrous metals. The 3\/32-inch profile is thinner than standard 1\/4-inch grinding wheels, allowing for faster cutting action and more precise control during blending operations. The wheel is reinforced to withstand lateral pressure while maintaining its flexible characteristics. It is manufactured to be free of iron, sulfur, and chlorine (less than 0.1%), ensuring it will not contaminate stainless steel or other sensitive alloys, although it is primarily optimized for steel.<\/p>\n
