The Walter XCAVATOR™ 08P460 is a state-of-the-art 4-1/2 inch grinding wheel designed to redefine productivity in heavy industrial applications. Engineered by Walter Surface Technologies, this wheel addresses the dual challenges of material removal speed and operator safety. At the core of its design is the innovative Comfort Max™ Technology integrated into the hub. This feature actively dampens vibration during operation, providing a smoother grinding experience that significantly reduces operator fatigue and the risk of long-term occupational health issues associated with hand-arm vibration. By creating a more ergonomic work environment, the XCAVATOR allows for longer periods of operation without the physical toll typically associated with heavy grinding tasks.

Beyond comfort, the XCAVATOR is built for sheer power. It boasts an Ultra High Removal Rate (UHRR), making it one of the most aggressive wheels available for Type 27 applications. It is specifically formulated to tackle the hardest metals in the industry, including tungsten carbide, quenched steel, and tempered steel, which often cause standard wheels to glaze over or wear prematurely. This capability eliminates production bottlenecks by speeding up the grinding process on difficult workpieces. Furthermore, the wheel features a Fe-Free formulation, ensuring it is free of iron, sulfur, and chlorine. This makes it a safe and reliable choice for working on stainless steel, as it guarantees no contamination that could lead to corrosion or rust issues down the line.
