The Walter Allsteel Xtra Grinding Wheel (SKU: 08C900) represents the pinnacle of abrasive technology for heavy-duty industrial applications. Designed with a 9-inch diameter and a standard 1/4-inch thickness, this wheel is engineered to deliver exceptional material removal rates without sacrificing longevity. It is specifically formulated to handle the rigorous demands of structural steel fabrication, heavy equipment manufacturing, and large-scale metalworking projects.

At the core of the Allsteel Xtra’s performance is Walter’s proprietary grain blend and advanced resinoid bonding system. This combination ensures that the wheel maintains a sharp cutting face throughout its lifespan, preventing the glazing that often plagues lesser abrasives. The wheel is manufactured to be free of iron, sulfur, and chlorine (Fe, S, Cl < 0.1%), making it a contaminant-free solution suitable for use on stainless steel as well as mild steel. This versatility allows facilities to consolidate their abrasive inventory, using a single high-performance wheel for multiple base materials.

Safety and efficiency are paramount in the design of the 08C900. The Type 27 depressed center configuration provides the rigidity required for aggressive grinding angles, while the reinforced structure withstands the stresses of operation at speeds up to 6,600 RPM. Operators will appreciate the smooth running characteristics of the wheel, which help minimize vibration-induced fatigue during extended shifts. Whether tasked with beveling heavy plates, grinding down large welds, or shaping structural components, the Walter Allsteel Xtra delivers consistent, reliable results that professional fabricators demand.
