The Walter 07X662 FX Stainless Wheel is a premium non-woven abrasive tool engineered specifically for the rigorous demands of industrial metal finishing. Designed to bridge the gap between aggressive grinding and final polishing, this 6-inch wheel utilizes a unique non-woven structure that provides a cushioned, controlled cut. This technology is particularly effective for applications requiring the removal of heat tint, oxidation, and light weld discoloration without altering the dimensional integrity of the base material. Unlike bonded abrasives that can gouge or undercut, the FX wheel conforms to the workpiece, ensuring a uniform finish even on curved surfaces or irregular weld beads.<\/p>\n
One of the primary technical advantages of the 07X662 is its ability to produce a consistent #4 finish, which is the industry standard for sanitary stainless steel applications in food processing, pharmaceutical, and chemical industries. The abrasive grain blend is strictly iron-free, eliminating the risk of cross-contamination that can lead to rust or corrosion on passivated surfaces. The open-web construction of the wheel promotes airflow, significantly reducing heat generation at the contact point. This cool-cutting action is critical when working with austenitic stainless steels, which are prone to warping or further discoloration under high thermal stress.<\/p>\n
