The Pferd 43297 Polivlies Flap Disc is a specialized abrasive tool designed for the demanding requirements of surface finishing and blending on stainless steel and other heat-sensitive metals. Unlike traditional coated abrasive flap discs designed for stock removal, this disc utilizes Pferd’s proprietary Polivlies non-woven material. This structure allows for gentle material removal, cleaning, and the creation of consistent surface finishes without gouging the workpiece. The 4-1\/2 inch diameter and 7\/8 inch arbor make it compatible with standard angle grinders, bringing precision finishing capabilities to portable tools.<\/p>\n
At the core of this disc’s performance is the “Co-Cool” technology. This formulation integrates ceramic oxide abrasive grain with active grinding additives that significantly reduce the temperature in the grinding zone. This is critical when working with stainless steel (INOX) and aluminum, as excess heat can cause oxidation, discoloration (heat tint), and warping. The 60 Grit (Coarse) texture is aggressive enough to remove light scale, rust, and surface imperfections while preparing the metal for finer polishing steps. It effectively bridges the gap between grinding and final polishing.<\/p>\n
