The Victor® Flame Buster Plus (Model FBP-1) represents a critical component in industrial oxy-fuel safety systems. Designed specifically for torch-mount applications, this packaged pair of flashback arrestors provides a dual-layer defense against the hazards of reverse flow and flashback. In oxy-fuel cutting and welding, a flashback occurs when the flame propagates back up the torch and into the gas supply lines, potentially reaching the cylinders with catastrophic results. The FBP-1 mitigates this risk by extinguishing the flame at the torch inlet, ensuring that the hose and regulator remain protected.

Beyond its primary safety function, the FBP-1 distinguishes itself with Victor’s integrated Kwik-Connect coupling system. This feature addresses the practical needs of professional fabricators who frequently change torches or disassemble equipment for storage. The Kwik-Connect mechanism allows for tool-free connection and disconnection of the torch from the hose lines, maintaining a secure, leak-proof seal during operation while offering unparalleled convenience. This design encourages the proper storage of torches and reduces wear on threaded fittings.
