The Uvex Astro OTG (Over-The-Glass) Safety Glasses with Shade 3.0 Infra-dura lens (SKU: UVXS2508) are designed to meet the rigorous demands of industrial workplaces where gas welding, cutting, and brazing are common operations. These glasses provide a practical and cost-effective solution for protecting a diverse workforce, specifically accommodating employees who wear prescription eyewear. By eliminating the need for expensive prescription safety lenses or uncomfortable fit-overs, the Astro OTG streamlines safety equipment procurement while ensuring full compliance with ANSI Z87.1+ and CSA Z94.3 standards.

Durability is a cornerstone of the Uvex Astro series. The lens features Uvex’s proprietary Ultra-dura hardcoat, which offers enhanced resistance to scratches and chemicals. This coating significantly extends the lifespan of the lens, maintaining optical clarity even in harsh industrial environments where dust, debris, and handling can quickly degrade inferior eyewear. The Shade 3.0 Infra-dura lens is specifically engineered to filter out harmful infrared radiation generated during torch soldering, brazing, and light cutting applications, protecting the user’s retina and reducing eye fatigue.

Comfort and fit are critical for compliance. The Astro OTG features adjustable temple lengths and lens inclination, allowing users to tailor the fit to their specific facial geometry. This adjustability ensures a secure seal and prevents the glasses from slipping during active work. The frame includes a molded-in browguard and sideshields, providing essential protection from flying particles and ambient radiation entering from above or the sides. For facility managers looking for reliable, versatile, and compliant eye protection, the Uvex Astro OTG is an industry standard.

[2016,2015

post-1783892","product","type-product","status-publish","product_cat-face-shields-specs-and-goggles","product_cat-head-mouth-face-safety","pa_brand-uvex","pa_inner-or-outer-lense-n-a","pa_item-safety-specs","pa_item-safety-specs-3","pa_lense-size-n-a","pa_lense-type-n-a","pa_lense-type-passive","pa_packaging-description-1-per-each-2","pa_packaging-description-1of1","pa_shade-or-magnifier-948","first","onbackorder","taxable","shipping-taxable","purchasable","product-type-simple
