When professional fabricators think of a reliable, workhorse MIG gun, the Tweco Classic No. 4 is often the first tool that comes to mind. For decades, the Classic series has defined durability and performance in the welding industry. This specific model, the 1040-1689 (L4153545K4), is configured specifically for welders running Lincoln Electric wire feeders, offering a seamless direct plug connection that gets you up and running immediately without the need for adapters.

Rated at a robust 400 Amps at 60% duty cycle, this air-cooled gun is built to handle high-amperage applications like structural steel fabrication, heavy equipment manufacturing, and shipbuilding. The 15-foot cable gives you the freedom to move around large weldments, reducing the need to constantly reposition your wire feeder. The cable itself is protected by a durable outer jacket and reinforced with heavy-duty steel spring strain reliefs at both the gun and feeder ends, ensuring it withstands the harsh environment of an industrial shop floor.

One of the biggest advantages of the Tweco Classic 4 is its serviceability. It uses the widely available 14 Series contact tips and 24 Series gas nozzles, which can be found in almost any welding supply shop globally. The simplified design means that if a part does wear out, it can be replaced quickly in the field, minimizing downtime. Whether you are welding mild steel, stainless, or flux-cored applications, the Tweco Classic No. 4 delivers consistent arc stability and wire feeding performance that professionals trust.

Why Choose the Tweco Classic 4?
