The Tweco Classic No. 4 (SKU: 1040-1605) is a heavy-duty, air-cooled MIG welding gun rated for 400 Amps at a 60% duty cycle when using CO2 shielding gas. This specific configuration features a 25-foot (7.6 meter) cable assembly and is terminated with a Euro-style back-end connection, making it compatible with a vast array of European and multi-process welding machines that utilize this standardized port. The gun is factory-configured for wire diameters ranging from 0.035″ to 0.045″ (0.9mm – 1.2mm), utilizing the industry-standard Tweco consumable platform.

The construction of the Classic No. 4 centers around its durable metal-jacketed conductor tube and the iconic oval-shaped handle, which has been a favorite among professional welders for decades due to its balance and grip. The cable assembly utilizes high-quality copper stranding to ensure efficient current transfer and minimize heat buildup over long distances. The Euro connector block integrates power, gas, and trigger signals into a single quick-disconnect fitting, simplifying setup and changeovers.

Maintenance and consumable replacement are straightforward, leveraging the ubiquitous Tweco 14-Series contact tips, 24-Series gas nozzles, and 54-Series gas diffusers. The gun also utilizes 44-Series liners, which are easily replaceable to maintain smooth wire feeding. This unit is designed for high-volume industrial environments where reliability and ease of repair are critical operational requirements.

Technical Overview: Tweco Classic No. 4 MIG Gun (Euro) The Tweco Classic No. 4 (SKU: 1040-1605) is a heavy-duty, air-cooled MIG welding gun rated for 400 Amps at a 60% duty cycle when using CO2 shielding gas.
