The Tweco Classic No. 4 MIG Gun (SKU: 1040-1113) represents the pinnacle of air-cooled welding torch design for heavy industrial applications. For decades, the Classic No. 4 has been the go-to choice for fabricators requiring a robust, high-amperage tool capable of withstanding the rigors of structural steel, shipbuilding, and heavy equipment manufacturing. This specific configuration is rated for 400 Amps at 60% duty cycle using CO2 gas, ensuring consistent performance during long weld runs.

This model comes equipped with a 15-foot (4.5 meter) cable, providing the necessary reach for working around large assemblies without moving the wire feeder constantly. The gun is factory-configured for 1/16-inch (1.6mm) welding wire, making it immediately ready for heavy-deposition flux-cored or solid wire applications typical in heavy industry. The backend connection is a standard Tweco connector, compatible with a vast array of wire feeders and power sources that utilize the Tweco adapter system.

Maintenance and consumable management are streamlined with the Classic No. 4. It utilizes the ubiquitous 14 Series contact tips, 24 Series gas nozzles, and 54 Series gas diffusers. These consumables are among the most widely available in the world, reducing downtime and inventory complexity. The gun features a heavy-duty mechanical connection between the conductor tube and the cable, ensuring excellent electrical conductivity and minimizing heat buildup at the handle. The handle itself features the iconic paddle switch, designed to be operated easily even with heavy welding gloves, reducing operator hand fatigue over long shifts.

Constructed with a durable outer jacket and high-quality copper stranding, the cable assembly resists cuts, burns, and abrasion. The air-cooled design eliminates the need for water coolers, simplifying the welding setup while still providing substantial cooling capacity for high-current welding. Whether for maintenance, repair, or production fabrication, the Tweco Classic No. 4 remains the benchmark for reliability and performance in the welding industry.

Industry Standard Heavy-Duty MIG Welding Gun The Tweco Classic No. 4 MIG Gun (SKU: 1040-1113) represents the pinnacle of air-cooled welding torch design for heavy industrial applications.
