The Tweco SG200REB-12 (SKU: 1027-1398) is a high-performance spool gun specifically engineered for compatibility with the ESAB Rebel family of multi-process welders. Designed to interface directly with the Rebel EMP 205ic AC/DC, EMP 235ic, and EMP 285ic, this unit features an 8-pin Amphenol style connector that supports the machine’s auto-detect functionality. When connected, the power source automatically recognizes the spool gun and adjusts the welding parameters accordingly, bypassing the need for manual internal switching or complex menu navigation.

Technically, the gun is rated for 200 Amps at a 60% duty cycle, making it suitable for medium-to-heavy fabrication tasks. It utilizes a direct-drive motor located within the handle to pull wire from a standard 4-inch (102mm) spool, significantly reducing the friction and feed issues associated with pushing soft aluminum wire through long cable liners. The assembly includes a 12-foot (3.7m) cable protected by a durable sleeve that houses the power cable, gas hose, and trigger leads. The conductor tube features a three-layer construction—copper tube, silicon resin glass insulator, and metal jacket—ensuring electrical efficiency and thermal resistance.

The SG200REB-12 is shipped ready to weld with 0.035″ (0.9mm) and 0.045″ (1.2mm) wire setups but can accommodate wire diameters ranging from 0.023″ to 0.045″. It utilizes industry-standard Tweco consumables, including 11 Series contact tips, 51 Series gas diffusers, and 21-50F nozzles, ensuring that replacement parts are readily available and cost-effective. The unit weighs approximately 6.40 lbs (2.90 kg) and features an impact-resistant pistol-grip handle with an external spool tension control for precise wire feed adjustments.

Technical Overview of the Tweco SG200REB-12 The Tweco SG200REB-12 (SKU: 1027-1398) is a high-performance spool gun specifically engineered for compatibility with the ESAB Rebel family of multi-process welders.
