The Tweco Classic No. 2 MIG Gun (SKU: 1020-1123) represents the benchmark for medium-duty semi-automatic arc welding applications. Engineered for durability and performance, this air-cooled gun is rated for 200 Amps at a 60% duty cycle when utilizing CO2 shielding gas. It is designed to accommodate a wide range of welding wires, typically from 0.023 inches (0.6mm) up to 0.045 inches (1.2mm), making it a versatile tool for general fabrication, maintenance, and repair operations. The assembly features a 15-foot (4.5m) cable, providing significant reach for operators working on large assemblies or in dynamic welding cells.

At the core of the Classic No. 2 is its robust construction. The conductor tube (gooseneck) is metal-jacketed, offering superior resistance to mechanical impact and radiant heat compared to polymer-molded alternatives. This ensures the integrity of the gas flow and wire path even in rugged shop environments. The gun utilizes the widely standardized Tweco consumable platform, including 14-Series contact tips, 22-Series gas nozzles, and 32 or 52-Series gas diffusers. This compatibility ensures that replacement parts are readily available and cost-effective, reducing total cost of ownership.

The rear connection of this model is a standard Tweco connector, designed to mate directly with wire feeders equipped with a Tweco adapter block. The cable assembly is constructed with high-quality copper stranding for efficient current transfer and is encased in a durable outer jacket that resists abrasion, cuts, and oil. The mechanical connection of the cable to the gun and pin is designed to be field-repairable, allowing for quick maintenance without the need for specialized tooling. The trigger mechanism is a simple, reliable leaf-spring design that provides positive feedback to the operator.

This unit is ideal for industries requiring a balance of maneuverability and power, such as automotive repair, light structural steel fabrication, and agricultural equipment repair. The 15-foot length offers optimal flexibility without excessive voltage drop, ensuring a stable arc characteristic. By maintaining the classic design features that have been proven over decades of service, Tweco ensures that the Classic No. 2 remains a reliable solution for professional welding requirements.

Industry Standard 200A Air-Cooled MIG Gun The Tweco Classic No. 2 MIG Gun (SKU: 1020-1123) represents the benchmark for medium-duty semi-automatic arc welding applications.
