The TurboTorch PL-5ADLX-B (SKU: 0386-0833) is a comprehensive air-acetylene torch outfit designed for professional plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration applications. This kit is engineered around the Extreme series Swirl Combustion Technology, which optimizes the fuel-air mixture to produce a high-intensity flame capable of rapid heat transfer. The system operates solely on acetylene gas using atmospheric air for combustion, eliminating the logistical requirement for high-pressure oxygen cylinders on the job site. The kit is configured for use with “B” style acetylene tanks, utilizing a CGA 520 connection on the included regulator.

At the core of this outfit is the G-4 torch handle and the PL-5A self-lighting tip. The G-4 handle features an ergonomic design with a quick-disconnect mechanism, allowing operators to switch between different tip sizes rapidly without tools. The PL-5A tip is equipped with a built-in piezo ignition system, rated for up to 100,000 lighting cycles, and carries a 3-year manufacturer warranty on the trigger mechanism. This self-igniting feature significantly improves workflow efficiency by removing the need for external strikers or flint lighters.

Performance specifications for the PL-5ADLX-B are tailored for standard copper tubing sizes found in residential and commercial installations. The unit provides a soft soldering capacity of up to 1-1/2 inches (38mm) and a silver brazing capacity of up to 3/4 inches (19mm). The included AR-B regulator ensures consistent gas flow and pressure control, while the 12-foot AH-12 hose provides ample reach for working in confined spaces or on ladders. Safety features include color-coded O-rings (red for acetylene) to prevent cross-connection with other fuel gases like MAP-Pro or Propane.
