The TurboTorch X-5B Extreme Torch Kit (0386-0338) represents the industry standard for air acetylene soldering and brazing systems. Designed for professionals in the plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration sectors, this kit combines time-tested durability with advanced combustion technology. At the heart of the system is the Extreme Swirl Technology found in the included A-5 tip. This design creates a high-velocity, swirling flame that wraps around tubing, maximizing heat transfer and reducing brazing time compared to conventional tips. The kit is engineered to operate using atmospheric air and acetylene, eliminating the need for a separate oxygen cylinder, which simplifies transport and setup for service technicians.

The X-5B kit is built around the rugged G-4 handle, a traditional manual lighting torch handle known for its ergonomic design and rear-positioned valve for precise flame control. The handle features quick-disconnect couplings, allowing users to switch between different tip sizes in seconds without tools. This modularity is essential for technicians who encounter varying pipe diameters on a single job site. The system utilizes color-coded O-rings—specifically red for acetylene—to prevent cross-connection with other fuel gases, enhancing job site safety. The included AR-B regulator is precision-machined to fit “B” style acetylene tanks (CGA 520 connection), ensuring consistent gas flow and pressure regulation.

Performance-wise, the X-5B kit is highly capable. It can soft solder copper tubing up to 1-1/2 inches (38mm) in diameter and silver braze up to 3/4 inch (19mm). This range covers the vast majority of residential and light commercial plumbing and HVAC applications. The kit comes complete with a 12-foot AH-12 hose, providing ample reach for working in attics, crawl spaces, or on ladders. Whether you are performing light fabrication, repairing refrigeration lines, or installing new plumbing systems, the TurboTorch X-5B offers the reliability and heat output required for high-quality joints.

TurboTorch X-5B Extreme Air Acetylene Torch Kit The TurboTorch X-5B Extreme Torch Kit (0386-0338) represents the industry standard for air acetylene soldering and brazing systems.
