The Tempil Tempilstik 450°F is the industry’s original and most trusted temperature-indicating stick, designed to provide a simple, accurate, and cost-effective method for measuring surface temperatures. For decades, professionals in the welding, metal fabrication, and industrial maintenance sectors have relied on Tempilstik to ensure their workpieces reach the critical temperatures required for quality results. Unlike complex electronic thermometers that require batteries, calibration, and delicate handling, the Tempilstik is a rugged tool that works on the principle of phase change. When the surface of your material reaches 450°F (232°C), the mark left by the stick instantly melts into a liquid smear, providing an undeniable visual signal that the temperature has been achieved.

This specific 450°F indicator is particularly useful for a variety of industrial applications, including pre-heating, interpass temperature monitoring, and post-weld heat treatment. Its ease of use makes it a favorite among operators; simply stroke the workpiece during heating, and the stick does the rest. The Tempilstik is housed in a durable, slip-resistant metal holder with a pocket clip, ensuring the crayon is protected against breakage and is always within reach on the job site. Because it relies on chemical properties rather than electronics, it is immune to static electricity and drift, making it a fail-safe solution for critical temperature checks.

At Josef Gas, we understand the importance of precision in industrial processes. The Tempilstik 450°F offers an accuracy of +/- 1% of its rated temperature, giving you the confidence that your measurements are precise. Whether you are annealing metal, monitoring bearing temperatures, or ensuring a weldment is within the correct thermal window, this tool is indispensable. It is also traceable to NIST standards, satisfying the rigorous documentation requirements of modern quality control systems.
