The Thermal Dynamics PCH-42ER (SKU: 7-4220) is a complete replacement plasma torch assembly engineered specifically for the Drag-Gun Plus plasma cutting system. This unit is rated for a maximum output of 40 Amperes, aligning perfectly with the power source characteristics of the Drag-Gun series. The torch features a 70-degree head angle, which is the industry standard for general-purpose handheld cutting, providing an optimal balance between torch maneuverability and arc visibility.

Central to the PCH-42ER’s design is the SureLok™ technology. This mechanism serves a dual purpose: it ensures the precise alignment of the electrode and nozzle for consistent arc quality, and it acts as a safety interlock to prevent the torch from firing if consumables are not correctly installed. The torch is gas-cooled (air-cooled), utilizing the single gas supply for both plasma generation and thermal management of the torch head components. This simplifies the internal lead construction and reduces maintenance requirements compared to liquid-cooled systems.

The assembly includes 20-foot (6.1-meter) leads, providing a substantial working radius from the power supply. The leads are integrated into the torch handle for a secure connection and are sheathed in durable protective material to withstand the abrasion and heat common in industrial environments. The handle itself is designed with ergonomics in mind, featuring a contoured grip that accommodates gloved hands and positions the trigger for natural actuation. This replacement package is a direct OEM solution, ensuring 100% compatibility with the Drag-Gun Plus without the need for adapters or modifications.

Technical Overview of the PCH-42ER Plasma Torch The Thermal Dynamics PCH-42ER (SKU: 7-4220) is a complete replacement plasma torch assembly engineered specifically for the Drag-Gun Plus plasma cutting system.
