The Miller 274030 Thermostat is a critical replacement component designed to maintain the operational integrity and safety of specific Miller welding power sources. As a genuine OEM part, it ensures exact fitment and adherence to the original engineering specifications of your equipment. This device functions as a thermal safety switch, monitoring the internal temperature of the welding machine’s critical components.

Technically, this unit is a Normally Closed (NC) thermostat. In its resting state, it allows current to flow, enabling the machine to operate. When the sensed temperature rises to the threshold of 120°F, the internal bimetallic element reacts, snapping the circuit open. This action cuts power or triggers a thermal fault mode, effectively stopping the welding process to allow the machine to cool down. Once the temperature drops to a safe level of 99°F, the switch automatically resets to the closed position, allowing operation to resume.
