The Miller Split Pigskin Leather Welding Jacket (Size Large, SKU 273214) is a top-tier protective garment designed for industrial environments where heat, spatter, and abrasion are constant hazards. Unlike standard cowhide alternatives, this jacket is crafted from premium split pigskin leather. This material choice is significant for maintenance and repair operations because pigskin naturally resists oil and water, ensuring the jacket remains pliable and comfortable over its lifespan rather than becoming stiff and brittle. The charcoal-colored leather hides grime and soot, maintaining a professional appearance even after rigorous use in heavy fabrication settings.

Comfort is a critical factor in safety compliance, and Miller has engineered this jacket to be worn for extended periods without causing fatigue. The interior features a mesh lining that promotes airflow, significantly reducing heat buildup inside the jacket—a common complaint with traditional heavy leather gear. This breathability allows operators to remain focused and cool, even when working in high-temperature environments. The design also includes an extra-high, lined welder’s collar which provides essential coverage for the neck, protecting sensitive skin from arc burns and flying debris.

Durability is reinforced through the use of Kevlar thread for every seam. Kevlar is renowned for its high tensile strength and heat resistance, preventing seam failure that can occur when standard threads burn away or rot. The jacket also features practical storage solutions, including an inside front pocket and pockets on each sleeve, allowing workers to keep essential small tools, soapstone, or markers within easy reach. With its extended rear tail, the jacket provides additional coverage for the lower back, ensuring comprehensive protection when bending or crouching.
