The Miller 272412 is a specialized female receptacle designed for specific Miller welding power sources. This component serves as a critical interface point between the welding machine and the torch assembly, specifically engineered to handle both high-amperage electrical current and shielding gas flow simultaneously. The unit utilizes a Twist Lock mechanism, a standard in the industry for ensuring positive mechanical engagement that resists loosening due to vibration or cable movement during operation.

Constructed from high-grade brass, this receptacle offers superior electrical conductivity, minimizing voltage drop at the connection point—a crucial factor for maintaining stable arc characteristics. The brass material also provides excellent resistance to oxidation and corrosion, which is essential in environments where shielding gases and fluctuating temperatures are present. The design incorporates a gas pass-through channel, allowing for a streamlined connection where the welding torch’s power pin can deliver both current and gas without the need for separate external gas lines at the machine panel.

This OEM part includes the necessary retaining ring to secure the receptacle to the machine’s front panel or internal mounting bracket. Proper installation of this component is vital for the safety and efficiency of the welding system. A compromised receptacle can lead to gas leaks (resulting in weld porosity) or high-resistance electrical connections (causing overheating and potential damage to the torch or machine). As a genuine Miller Electric component, the 272412 ensures precise dimensional fitment and adherence to the manufacturer’s rigorous quality standards for duty cycle and insulation.
