The Miller WeldX Performance Welding Jacket (SKU: 247116) represents a significant advancement in personal protective equipment for professional welders. Designed to bridge the gap between heavy leather garments and standard cotton apparel, this jacket utilizes Miller’s proprietary WeldX fabric. The front and sleeves are constructed from a 7-ounce WeldX material that delivers extreme flame-resistant properties. This specialized fabric is engineered to repel sparks, spatter, and molten metals without burning, melting, igniting, or shrinking, providing a safety profile that rivals traditional leather but with a fraction of the weight.

Comfort is a critical factor in maintaining safety compliance and productivity. To address this, Miller has integrated a 9-ounce flame-resistant Navy cotton back panel into the design. This hybrid construction ensures that the areas most exposed to the arc receive maximum protection, while the back allows for heat dissipation. Further enhancing comfort is the vented back design, which promotes improved airflow, keeping the operator cool during long shifts in hot environments. The jacket also features a “Barracuda” style stand-up collar, specifically designed to shield the neck from UV radiation and stray sparks, a common vulnerability in standard welding shirts.

Practicality and longevity are at the core of the WeldX jacket’s design. Unlike leather, which can become stiff and difficult to clean, this jacket is fully machine washable without losing its durability or flame-resistant qualities. It is pre-shrunk to ensure the fit remains consistent over time. The sleeves are lined for an extra layer of thermal defense, and the cuffs feature fold-in snaps to ensure a snug fit around the wrist, preventing debris from entering the sleeve. Secured by a zipper closure with a Velcro storm flap, the jacket eliminates gaps where sparks could penetrate. Additionally, as a chromium-free alternative, it offers an environmentally responsible disposal method compared to chrome-tanned leathers.

WeldX Jacket, LMiller® Exclusive Material Exceeds Standard FR Cotton Protection Without the Weight of Leather.
[1970,1971

post-1773098","product","type-product","status-publish","endorsed-aluminum-fab-shop","endorsed-autobody-shop","endorsed-carbon-steel-fab-shop","endorsed-construction-demolition-shop","endorsed-home-shop","endorsed-mechanical-contractor","endorsed-red-seal","endorsed-stainless-steel-fab-shop","product_cat-gloves-leather-sleeves-aprons","product_cat-gloves-leathers-sleeves-aprons","pa_brand-miller","pa_item-jacket","pa_material-cloth","pa_material-fire-resistant-cotton","pa_packaging-description-1-per-each","pa_size-lg","first","onbackorder","taxable","shipping-taxable","purchasable","product-type-simple
